Football:
Arsenal got a crucial away goal in their 1-1 draw with Villareal in a UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg. Emmanuel Adebayor scored the equaliser in acrobatic style. Defending champions Man United suffered a setback after being held to a 2-2 draw by FC Porto at Old Trafford. Tevez put United in the lead with 5 minutes to play, but Mariano equalised in the last minute. United defender Patrice Evra admits they are struggling at the back.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez seems determined to make an enemy out of Alex Ferguson after claiming his Man U counterpart is "scared" of the Reds.
It's the Cape PSL derby tonight between Ajax Cape Town and Santos. Santos Coach David Bright says he is confident his team can get all three points as the sides battle for a place in the top eight.
Golf:
In news from Augusta ahea! d of the Masters which tees off tomorrow: Major winners Ernie Els, Vijay Singh and Geoff Ogilvy will tee off together in the first two rounds. The great Gary Player will play his last Masters after a record 52nd appearance.
Rugby:
Springbok sevens star, Robert Ebersohn, says we're likely to see him play in the Currie Cup this season. Ebersohn made a strong commitment to playing sevens rugby last year but is only contracted with the Boks until the end of the season. He also has a contract with the Free State Cheetahs. He says he hasn't ruled out reverting back to 15-man rugby.
